Quick Nation answer:

A Board foot = length of the board that is 12" wide by 1.   EX:   1x12 foot long is one Board Foot.  1x6 foot long is a half a board foot (6/12=1/2).  2x6 foot long is one board foot.   Pricing my vary, but a price per board foot is an easy way to get pricing.

A lineal foot is a straight line measurement of the length only.

Square foot is determined by the length X the width in feet.
